Xavier uses his telepathic powers to smash Gaby's inner walls and force her to come out. While he does this, he sees strange images of the Nazis transforming Gaby into a golden statue. During the following weeks, Magnus and Charles, who both help Gaby with her recovery, become friends and even discuss the possibility of the evolution of mutants. Gaby and Charles, however, fall in love, despite Xavier's better judgement. Just as they are about to kiss, Gaby is abducted and the hospital is attacked by armed terrorists, called HYDRA. To save lives, Magnus reveals his magnetic mutant powers, as he kills those terrorists. Magnus and Charles learn what they need to know from one prisoner and follow the HYDRA-agents to Africa. HYDRA, under the leadership of Baron von Strucker, is there to find a gold treasure the Nazis hid during the last days of World War II. The coordinates were given to Gaby only for safekeeping. Magnus and Charles try to free Gaby, but her screams give them away. Strucker attacks them with a gauntlet that gives him super strength, but Magnus easily crushes it (and his hand), before levitating his friends and the gold out and collapsing the cave. Outside, he tells Xavier that he'll use the gold to ensure that mutants are going to win the coming conflict and leaves as Gaby awakes from her catatonia. In the present, Xavier too finally finds the strength to awake. Later, the X-Men (without the recuperating Xavier and Illyana) are invited to a farewell party on Lilandra's yacht. The man who arranged the meeting between Mariko and the Silver Samurai was an impostor and, while they've been wasting time here, their foes might be attacking the hospital where Mariko and the poisoned X-Men are. The fears are correct: Viper and a team of ninja assassins are attacking the hospital and dispatching of the agents posted there. Rogue flies in, grabs Viper and the Ninja and tosses them out of the building. Wolverine, in the meantime, challenges the Samurai and wins their brutal battle. As he intends to kill him, Mariko asks him to spare her half-brother. They are joined by an armed Viper, who demands they let the Samurai go. The Samurai faints, Wolverine and Mariko make a run for it and, before the gun's energy ray can hit them, Rogue throws herself into the ray's path, suffering severe injuries. After the gun overloads, Viper teleports herself and the Samurai away. Wolverine lets Rogue absorb his powers to save her life. In the meantime, Yukio and Storm battled some muggers and Storm, inspired by Yukio, starts to revel in her emotions, even her darker ones, instead of suppressing them, One week later, at the Yashida's ancestral seat, Mariko, preparing for the wedding, is visited by Mastermind, who influences her in some way. At the wedding reception, the X-Men meet Cyclops' girlfriend, Madelyne Pryor, for the first time and are shocked by her similarity to Jean Grey. Also, Storm returns, changed in a startling manner. She has gone punk, much to Kitty's horror. The young woman reveals her friend Illyana’s soul sword and Eldritch armor which has bonded to her after her friends death. Rogue, however, does not remember Ilyana or the New Mutants, as they were all uncreated by the Beyonder. Kitty laments that they have no hope as no one remembers nor believes her. Grief stricken she collapses to the floor. Phoenix walks in and explains that she has a plan to stop the Beyonder. She also reveals that the power he gave her last issue is still in her possession. All she has to do is destroy all of creation and hope that by doing so the Beyonder will cease as well. Kitty quickly agrees to give her life force for this cause. Rogue is hesitant but still does her part. A de-powered Jessica Drew overhears the exchange and gives her life force willingly as well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEntering the mansion, Ray takes the essence of all her X-Men teammates and even forcefully takes Storm's despite her protests. With the power she desires in her possession, she takes off from Earth setting a course for the planet where the M’kraan Crystal is located. The Watcher laments that he will not interfere just watch. Ray eventually reaches Shi'ar space, takes the essence of all the streamers, and enters the Crystal ready to unleash its neutron galaxy and wipe out all creation. Storm makes a final plea to Ray but the young woman is adamant that this is the best thing to do. She unleashes her powers connecting with every sentient life form in the known galaxies. Their individuality, their uniqueness, their very lives and the endless possibilities there coupled with Storm pleading to Ray is too much. She returns all of her friends to where they were originally and laments that she could not destroy them all after experiencing all of that.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Beyonder arrives and vows to finish what she started. Ray comes to realize that she was his unwitting pawn to destroy everything since he knew what she was thinking and feeling and he gave her the power to do it. He decides he will destroy it all now and Phoenix unleashes his power that he gave to her along with the experience that she had before with connecting to all life. It proves overwhelming to the Beyonder who finally understands mortally and individuality. He thanks the X-Men for this experience and confesses he envies them. In Genosha, Boom-Boom and Rictor have found each other and are currently fleeing from Chief Magistrate Tam and her forces. Tam aims to kill, but she is thwarted by a blind-side attack from Jubilee. Wolverine, Psylocke, and Jubilee attack the Magistrates while their down, but Tam proves to be a difficult opponent. Nearly killing Wolverine, Psylocke ends up putting a psi-blade through Tam's head. With the fight over (and Wolverine failing to recover quickly), Psylocke looks into the minds of the New Mutants to find out what has been happening. She senses the presence of the rest of the X-Men, as well as X-Factor, and she and Wolverine head to the Citadel to help in any way they can. Much to Jubilee's dismay, she's stuck with Boom-Boom and Rictor.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn television, the Genegineer debates the ethics of Genosha's abducting of the young mutants with Moira MacTaggart with Manoli Wetherell as moderator. Moira doesn't come off too well, seeing as how Wolfsbane, one of the captured, is her charge. The Genegineer crafts his way around every question, holding that Genosha has done no wrong. Once the broadcast is over, the Genegineer walks with Chief Magistrate Anderson and the two discuss policy and the effects of Cameron Hodge. While neither like the man, neither feels the need to let off the attack on the X-Men. Later, the Genegineer laments in his office the fact that his son has become a traitor. Storm finds him and, with a knife, threatens to kill him. Before any action can be taken, however, Hodge shows up. Hodge pins Storm to the wall and moves in for the kill. He is stopped by the Genegineer and the President of Genosha. Storm's mutagenic signature, they state, would best be served as a mutate serving the country. Hodge agrees and the Genegineer promises the mutate process will begin immediately on Storm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWolverine and Psylocke have changed into Magistrate clothes are are flying to the Citadel. As they chat, Psylocke is hit with agonizing pictures of Storm in pain. At that moment, Storm is going through the mutate process and her rapport with Psylocke has linked the two. Psylocke's personal carrier goes down, with Wolverine jumping after it. After crashing, an emergency transport shows up and Wolverine orders the help to take them straight to the Genegineer to fix up Psylocke. Not suspecting anything, the emergency responders fly straight to the Citadel. Once inside, Wolverine and Psylocke are directed to the Genegineer's office. Before they can get there, they are stopped by Havok. He's heard report that his lady, Tam, has been injured. The emergency responder states that Psylocke is Tam. The bluff is up and Wolverine confronts Havok. The two fight until Psylocke puts an end to it by putting a psi-blade into Havok's head. The two begin searching the Citadel when they are confronted by Hodge. As a battle breaks out, the Genegineer runs a customized program on Storm. In the battle, Wolverine and Psylocke both give Hodge all they've got; Psylocke even tries a psi-blade. Unfortunately, Hodge has a more effective psi-attack and the two are soon in his clutches. Lian doesn't quite share her master's optimism, as Xavier and his X-Men have always seemed to thwart the best laid plans. The Shadow King is confident that this time he'll be able to subvert Xaver's dream with his own.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn England at the Weird Happenings Organization, an alarm sounds sending troops to the hanger that houses the Excalibur plane. Apparently someone has gotten through undetected. The hangar has been gassed, but it appears the only people taken out by it were the guards themselves. Inside the hangar, a man laments the discomfort the guards must endure on his behalf. He also laments that he can't get any good psi-reads from outside because of a seemingly world-wide disturbance on the Astral Plane. Just then, however, a truck bursts through and gunfire wracks the suit that protects the intruder. Knowing that none of the bullets could have pierced the stranger, the troops are wary. As they approach, the man realizes that their proximity allows him to enter one's mind and call off the other troops. He then boards the Blackbird. The Blackbird accepts him. The man flies away from the military base under the cover of a very mysterious fog.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn Muir Island, an arena has been set up to pit the mutants against each other. Moira's idea is to use the arena as her version of the Danger Room. People are watching in the gallery as Guido and Rogue tear into each other like animals. With no holds barred, the two pummel each other into the walls. Guido has the upper at first, but Rogue soon lets it all out and smacks Guido into a wall. She doesn't understand why she feels okay with hurting a friends like she does, but the others simply tell her it's good practice. Once in the showers, Rogue debates with herself the morals of her actions. She hates the idea of beating the crap out of her friends. Out of the shower, the Shadow King appears and convinces Rogue of the greatness of letting one's darker side out. Rogue embraces the thought.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn the Blackbird, Professor Xavier takes off the suit and inspects his chest. The bullets may not have pierced him, but they did leaves some fantastic welts. Outside, Storm finds satisfaction in her foggy diversion. She instructs Xavier to follow her to the other X-Men. The Blackbird lands on Scotland, just shy of Muir Island, and Wolverine patches up the Professor. The X-Men are all there. Despite the beating Xavier has taken, he still wants to participate in finding out what's going on with Muir Island. The team flies over to Muir and Forge hops out on a glider and accesses a back door to the Muir Island security systems. The rest of the X-Men make their way down to the island as the Professor flies off the New York to somehow contact X-Factor.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNear Moira's lab, Banshee sneaks into her private residence. He's been concerned about her behavior for some time now and he hopes to find some answers. Just outside, Psyocke psi-links with the team to tell them that the island's population seems to be congregated at an arena. Storm sees the arena and the brutality shown there and asks Forge for further information. He's hacked into Moira's information and explains that Moira is gauging everyone's powers in the most brutal way imaginable. Also, he notes that there is serious power activity in a lower level, calling to mind a very powerful being. Storm is then confronted by Legion. He seems at odds with himself but ultimately uses his pyrokinetic power to torch Storm. Psylocke, unable to sever her link in time, is mentally bound to feeling the same pain as Storm. She passes out. From Moira's room, Banshee sees Storm careen to the ground. He leaps out to try and save her but gets blind sided by a sonic force bolt. He lands in the water and slowly pulls himself out. He sees his attacker and pins her to the ground and threatens to exact revenge until he sees that it's his daughter. She plays coy but ultimately knocks Banshee out with a rock. Inside the lab, Gambit gets overrun by Madroxes. Elsewhere, Wolverine runs into Rogue and the two begin a brutal battle. Jubilee hopes to stop the fight between the friends by using her fireworks, but Amanda Sefton steps in with her demon pets to get Jubilee.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn New York, the Professor surveys the condition of his school. Wolverine would happen upon a house that almost entirely ravaged and on fire. Once he enters he finds a lady mortally wounded under a pile of debris from the collapsed ceiling of her home. He would try to help her as best as he could but realized that there was no saving her. Instead, she made him promise to take her daughter, Akiko, who was there and to take care of her and raise her as she no longer could. Feeling slightly guilty for the dragon's attacks as she came with the X-Men Wolverine would accept. He would take the burden of honor and promise to fulfill the dieing woman wish and took the young Akiko with him. Shortly after the dragon would also be stopped by none other then Lockheed and the X-Men were free to return to America. The Press Gang's Pipeline transmits the two ladies to Genosha.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRogue shows up later and finds Madelyne's plane. Psylocke gets the visual image and relates what Rogue sees to the X-Men. Gateway then teleports Wolverine and Storm to the abduction site. Wolverine smells Madelyne and Jenny Ransome and does his best to track the abductors while the rest of the X-Men teleport in to join the search.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLater that night, Wolverine and Rogue follow a scent that leads them to a hospital. They dress up as a nurse and patient and scour the hospital for the abductors. Wolverine finds the scent in the pediatrics section. They run into Punchout and Wolverine recognizes her scent and a scuffle goes down until Rogue sucks Punchout's powers. Wolverine then finds Pipeline and Hawkshaw. Hawkshaw keeps Wolverine and Rogue busy while Pipeline transmits some Genoshan Magistrates in to help. Colossus then proceeds to attack. The Professor succeeds in inducing a temporary paralysis, but this effort weakens himself against the Shadow King; he attacks and Colossus is released. Stevie helps the Professor up and they run to the underground hatch to the mansion. They just barely get the hatch closed and locked before Colossus simply rips the hatch off. The prey continues to flee with the hunter following close behind. Professor Xavier engages the Danger Room and sets up the scene of when he first me the Shadow King. As Colossus enters the room, he sees the Professor sitting at a table. The Shadow King expresses his pleasure at being able to end Xavier's life where their relationship began. Unfortunately for him, the Professor is a hologram and Colossus is pummeled unawares. The Professor wants to keep Colossus engaged while avoiding hurting him too much. This compromise isn't enough and Colossus breaks in to the Danger Room control room and attacks Stevie. The Professor, with no other alternative, dives deep into the mind of Colossus to break the old thoughts of being Peter Nicholas, as well as breaking the hold of the Shadow King. Colossus passes out on the floor in his flesh form.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn Washington, D.C., the body of Inspector Reisz lurches forward. The Shadow King is having a hard time maintaining his bodily vessel. Dr. Lian Shen explains that this body deteriorates faster when the Shadow King divides his time between hosts. Even his powers are not enough to keep the Reisz body going on forever. He laments the fact, as he's enjoyed close associations with prominent people in Washington, like that of Valerie Cooper. He agree, however, that a new body is necessary.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA hunt for sport has begun on Muir Island. Wolverine, Jubilee, and Gambit travel together but the Shadow King's negative influence is too much for Jubilee and Gambit and the two spar a bit with Gambit winning. Wolverine intervenes and Jubilee runs away to join Rogue's hunting party. Gambit isn't satisfied and tries to engage Wolverine by tossing a few cards his way. Wolverine refuses to give in to the Shadow King's influence and storms away. Not far away, he is waylaid by Forge. Wolverine's bloodlust gets the better of himself and he tries to skewer Forge. Forge is too quick, however, and places a neuralsynaptic buffer to keep the Shadow King out. The buffer knocks Wolverine out for a bit. In the meantime, Rogue finds Forge and threatens to take him out. Before she can act, Forge whips out a large gun with buffer capabilities and shoots Rogue right out of the sky.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn Salem Center, the Professor, Colossus, and Stevie stumble into town. It's not too long before they witness a frenzied crowd chasing a small black boy. Not knowing their motivations, the Professor steps in front of the child to protect him. Xavier sees a vision of Wolverine lying helpless while the Shadow King explains that his students are falling and there is nothing that can be done to stop it. Their encounter with Ka-Zar in the Savage Land ( Issue #10), with the alien named Stranger ( Issue #11) and with Juggernaut, who they had beaten with the help of Human Torch (issues #12 and 13). The arrive of Sentinels and Bolivar Trask final sacrifice (issues #14, 15 and 16). Then he remembered about many foes that the X-Men had fought against, like Mimic ( issue #19), Lucifer ( issue #20) Count Nefaria and Maggia (issues #22 and 23), Cobalt Man ( issue #31), Locust ( issue #24), Kukulcan (issues #25 and 26), Maha Yogi ( issue #30), Banshee as a member of Factor Three ( issue #28) and the Super Adaptoid ( issue #29).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAgain Scott thinks about Jean and their first kiss, but then new and old foes and some friends had arrived at their lives: Dr. Strange, Spider-Man ( issue #35), Mekano ( issue #36), Juggernaut, Tyrannus and Mole Man ( issue #34) and the Mutant Master leader of Factor Three ( issue #37). The the X-Men had fought against a strong creature called Grotesk, that killed Professor Xavier at issue #42. Cyclops became then the real leader of X-Men, they found Lorna Dane (Polaris, issue #49), fought Mesmero ( issue #50) and again Magneto. Cyclops told everyone that he had a brother, Alex, who was also a mutant and then they had to fight the Living Monolith for Alex's life (issues #54, 55, 56). They fought against the Sentinels again, with Larry Trask leading them ( issues #57, 58 and 59) and then against Sauron (issues #60, 61 and 62) and again with Magneto at Savage Land ( issue #63). At issue #64 they fought against Sunfire, and next issue they discovered that Professor X was alive, and that it was Changeling who had died before, just in time to have one huge battle against an alien race, called Z'Nox.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe new X-Men had arrived (Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler and Thunderbird, together with Sunfire and Banshee) and fought against Krakoa - Giant-Size X-Men. The old members but Cyclops had left the team, and the new X-Men fought against Count Nefaria again, just to had one of the new guys killed in battle - Thunderbird at issue #95. The Sentinels had showed up again ( issue #98) and after a few issues and a long battle it ended up with Jean Grey sacrifice in order to save all the X-Men from solar radiation ( issue #100), and unfortunately that made Jean become the Phoenix ( issue #101). The X-Men then fought against Juggernaut and Black Tom Cassidy (issues #102 and 103) and again Magneto ( 104). Then Princess Lilandra had arrived at Earth asking the help of Professor X and the X-Men in her Shi'ar world (issue #104) and the X-Men was forced to go to Shi'ar Empire and fight against their Imperial Guard ( issue #107). Phoenix had used her huge power to stop an Armageddon and had saved the Universe ( issue #108). Back on Earth, Wolverine had fought an old Canadian friend Weapon Alpha ( issue #109), then they had fought Mesmero and Magneto again (issues #110, 111, 112 and 113) and at the end the team had split up.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eCyclops, Storm, Colossus, Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Banshee had escaped towards Savage Land, and there they fought Sauron again ( issue #115) and with the help pf Ka-Zar battled Garokk ( issue #116). They fought against Arcade at Murderworld (issues #123 and 124). The X-Men fought against Proteus, Moira's son and a mutant capable of controlling reality (issue #127 and 128).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn the meantime Mastermind had started a plot in the mind of Jean Grey, helped by the inner circle of Hellfire Club, and that finishes with Jean becoming the Dark Phoenix. At the Baxter Building, Kitty has gotten the device and plans to leave over the roof in order to not be caught by any security systems. However, on the roof, she is startled by something and falls. At Xavier’s, the Professor is made almost helpless by an odd scanning wave. Rogue offers to bring him some tea, however when she returns he notices a strangeness about her and realizes too late it is Mystique. She stuns him and intends to finish the job when the real Rogue returns. The two have an intense talk and Rogue makes her understand that she is with the X-Men of her own free will, as they at least offer her the chance of learning to control her powers: Mystique makes a deal with the X-Men who have won the battle. Her team against Xavier’s life. The Genegineer is not pleased, as he knows the two thieves, former prisoners Wolverine and Rogue, may have allies that will come to their aid at any time. Anderson commits to finding the escapees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOutside a store, Wolverine watches a bit of propaganda about Genosha and all its splendors. He then turns to see a mutate being harassed by a Magistrate. Rogue\/Carol switches clothes and now wears a revealing dress, her point is that she might get noticed, but nobody will look at her face. She and Logan enter a Magistrate bar, where by coincidence Phillip Moreau tries to drown his frustrations. Wolverine encourages a bar fight so as to steal Magistrate identification. Phillip has no chance against the Magistrates. They knock Phillip out and decide to teach him a lesson. They dress him up as a mutate and place him on a train leading to the mutate camp in the citadel. Rogue and Logan follow in their Magistrate disguises and hop the train as it departs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Genegineer talks to Jenny Ransome after she begins the mutate process. He explains how important the mutates are for the country; the whole economic systems depends on the cheap superhuman workers. Jenny asks if she at least will still be a healer, but the Genegineer refuses, her powers will be oriented in other direction. He orders her to be taken to the final processing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMadelyne is examined in a psionic lab, as they still can’t figure out if she is a mutant or not. As a telepath tries to probe her she warns him to back off. The pair locate the warehouse where Wolverine is being held captive and Jubilee hatches a plan to rescue him that involves her dressing up as a boy and delivering pizzas. Jubilee's plan works fairly well and she is let into the warehouse. She then uses her fireworks to create confusion and is able to free Wolverine from the cage he is being held in. While this is happening, Psylocke is discovered creeping in the rafters by the Harrier known as Blindside. The two women battle it out and ultimately the Harriers are able to subdue the two mutants. At that moment Wolverine's Hong Kong gangster buddies bust into the Harrier's base ready to fight. Wolverine appears and stops everyone from killing each other. He and Hardcasse explain that the entire thing was a test for their respective teams. Wolverine wanted to see if Jubilee and Psylocke could work together while Hardcase wanted to put The Harriers through their paces. get the names of 11 X-Men, Xavier, Cyclops, Storm, Iceman, Sun fire, Polaris, Cable, Bishop, Mikhail Rasputin, The Monolith and is then interrupted by Archangel who questions what the Monolith is doing in that list, Jean wonders if it's a new Monolith, Marrow questions why she and the other X-Men weren't part of the 11 X-Men, Jubilee tells her that it gets old fast, Kurt tells them that it is only a list so how would it help them, Storm says that the Skrulls and their leader are extremely interested in those people so they need to find out why quickly, Kitty and Warren figure out how they are going to contact the rest of the twelve while Marrow thinks that it wont work due to the Wolverine search, Kitty tells her that he is being masked by their tracking devices but she has not given up on him yet, Gambit tells them that if things go as they go then the bad guys will find them instead while Charles mentions that's why they need to be prepared, the rest of the X-Men then leave to assault, Ororo briefs Xavier of what Fiz just told her that the Horsemen where just Skrull drones and were not the real deal, then Caliban and the Horseman named Famine attack the Professor, Magneto tries to fight them off but is distracted by what seems to be an Astra and Joseph, in all his anger he rushes towards them in hopes of destroying them both but is teleported with them along with the Professor to the unknown, Apocalypse again in his waiting room sees all this and wants the Skrull men to bring in Bishop from his time-stream, one of the Skrull adds that they wouldn't have had to call in Bishop now had it not been done earlier, Apocalypse tells him that this is no game, he needed Bishops power intact as it is a prime key for his plan to be a success, outside Bishop is transported into the battle field and is extremely shocked by what is happening, immediately he notices the X-Men are in trouble and rushes to their aid, Gambit then threatens to attack Bishop if he doesn't explain how he got here so fast after he left the X-Men in the past so quickly, he begins to explain but Gambit doesn't take it, Ororo cuts in and figures out that this confusion is exactly what their opposition intends of them, suddenly the teams of X-Force and Generation X appear, Cannonball tells them how the situation of the other members is going but is halted by Ororo who doesn't believe that they are really who they claim to be, Cannonball manages to convince her a bit but as the battle wages on the X-Men notice that they have no idea who is which anymore, Beast tells them that he has his own type of gizmo made for Skrull infiltrators if ever the need, he sprays the solution in the X-Mens area to see if it works and also states that it only works in a single area so the rest of the X-men are quite helpless, Rogue, Colossus, Fiz and Polaris are facing off against the Skrull armada who seem to be an endless amount, Lorna notices and explosion and recognizes the power signature, its Havoks, immediately she rushes to his help, Cyclops tells Lorna to stay back incase its a a trick but she does not listen, Phoenix recons she can stop her before its too late but gets sucked into the portal along with Lorna and the Skrull Alex, Scott tries to save Jean but fails, in anger Scott unleashes a full powered optic blast questioning where they have and conditions of his Skrull finding solution the X-Men come under attack by a Death bird, Bishop immediately lunges at her with an attack, then Henry's gas seems to be doing its stuff and Cannonball and co are turned back into their true Skrull selves, Gambit tries to warn Storm but it is too late, she gets taken by the Skrulls and then into the portal, Remy and Henry battle against the Skrulls and Egyptians while Bishop looses his fight against the Death bird he then gets taken in my her portal, the opposition seems to be closing in on the remaining X-Men until the cavalry arrives to help Later Warp is seen with his friends in a night club and they are eager to know his plans for his birthday. Savant only answers vaguely that he will be celebrating and uses his mutant powers on an empty bottle. It seems as if the bottle is melting or getting vaporized till it is fully gone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt the Xavier Institute Cyclops watches anti mutant speeches in the news and is kind of depressed. He knows that this kind of media coverage will only make conditions for mutantkind worse and there no longer seems to be a doubt that one day humans and mutants will go at war. His wife Jean tries to snap him out of his mood, but without effort.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWarp Savant has made his way to Cape Citadel and simply uses his powers on the signs and barriers that are meant to keep unrestricted persons out of the military base. He makes a lot of noise, destroys some tanks and other equipment and loudly cries out that he is an evil mutant, till many soldiers arrive on the scene. Their commander gets very angry and starts to yell at Warp Savant, who makes fun of him by saluting and kissing him on the face, before the commander too is vaporized by his powers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBack at the mansion, Cyclops has alerted Jean and Wolverine to a yet unknown mutant signature in Florida detected by Cerebro. Scott sends his wife and Logan there with the X-wing, their new plane, while he and Archangel will follow soon. Jean gives her husband a goodbye kiss, but he doesn’t respond too much. During the flight Wolverine asks Jean about possible problems in the marriage, but she tells him to mind his own business. Below, Warp Savant battles the military and all gunfire and any soldier that comes within his power‘s range vanishes away. Finally they decide to retreat, while Savant stands triumphant in the ruins of Cape Citadel. As he lights himself a cigarette he becomes aware of a new opponent – Wolverine, who jumped out of the X-wing with his claws up first, but as soon as he gets within Warp’s range, he too is vaporized. While still laughing Warp savant is hit by a powerful psi-bolt, however as soon as he has located Jean as it‘s cause, he uses his power on her too. Jean and Logan find themselves in an unknown place, that at first seems to be similar to Cape Citadel. The many tanks that Warp has whisked away are there too, operated by skeletons, possibly the remains of the transported soldiers. Without knowing what they are up against the two X-Men are able to hold their ground.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMeanwhile the military has evacuated the area and are calling higher departments for help, as Archangel and Cyclops arrive on the scene. Warren carries an EMP pulse gun and has deduced that Warp Savant’s ability has a reach limit, which he tell Scott via his comm-link. On Cyclops‘ command, Archangel hits Savant with a pulse wave, and the villain screams in agony, while Scott still tries to locate the signatures of his missing teammates. Elsewhere Jean and Logan hear Warp’s cries as suddenly the scenery changes. They find themselves in a child’s bedroom, and not before long monsters crawl out from under the bed and out of the closet. While fighting them, Jean realizes that they have been transported into their opponents mind, specifically into his subconscious. Outside Warren and Scott hit Savant from a safe distance with optic beams and EMP waves, till he finally falls down. Temporarily immobile and powerless, Cyclops approaches him about the whereabout’s of his wife, while inside the mind, the isolated place where Jean and Logan are slowly breaks apart. Little by little does the room dissolve till only a small corner is left; Jean gives in to despair as she believes that they will die. Wolverine on the other hand is not too afraid, but as these might be his last moments he grabs Jean and kisses her deeply. With the room fully destroyed, both Jean and Logan emerge back in the real world in a weakened condition. Cyclops cares for his wife, but Wolverine angrily walks over to Savant, wanting to slice him up with his claws. Scott is about to stop him, but Warp needs no help as he escapes by using his powers on himself.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe X-Men decide to go back to Westchester, Jean claims to not remember what happened while they were gone, but Logan states that he knows every little bit about what they experienced. Nightcrawler checks on the baby he helped deliver and proper introductions are made. Harmony, the baby’s mother is able to breathe under water, Double Helix has two heads on one body, Carla ressembles a mole.The Burning Puddle’s mutation is acid perspiration and his Mother Saccharine’s sweat is liek Sugar when he burns her. Ther bay has not been named yet. The outcasts tell their individual stories, they have been thrown out by their parents or escaped from governmental facilities and baded together in London’s sewers, where they lived in secrecy till Mr. Clean torched many of their community.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAccompanied by her bodyguards, Sugar Kane enters a hotel with many reporters asking annoying questions. Inside Chamber wqaits for them. Suddenly a few people in containment suits burst in and take Sugar with them. Chamber wants to stop them with his powers but her manager Sim tells him not to.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the sewers the X-Men and the other mutants are still walking, as suddenly Mr. Clean arrives behind them. Iceman seals off the tunenels between them, leaving Mr. Clean trapped with Wolverine closing in from behind him. Clean uses his flame-thrower and a grenade toi set Logan on fire and believes the fight to be over. He turns towards the ice-shield, but Logan is not dead and destroys the flame-thrower with his claws. They fight each other with combat moves, and after Wolverine is sure that his opponent is bathed in the fuel from his own equipment, he uses a zippo to set Mr. Clean on fire. He perishes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn his hotel room, Chamber watches the news. Where Sim makes an announcement. Upon being asked if Sugar will get an abortion, he replies that her condition is still hypothetical and has not even been confirmed. A servant comes in to tell Jono that Miss Kane no longer pays for the room and he has to leave immediatly. Also he asks him to use the back entrance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the tunnels, the X-Men have accompanied their new friends to a tunnel leading outside of London. They even offer to take them to Xavier’s school in Westchester, but the mutants turn them down., they are only looking for a quiet peaceful place to live. Harmony decides to name her baby Hope, as they part ways.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLater, TV news report, that Sugar voluntarily checked into a british intelligence facility who confirmed that she is not pregnant. Her managment considers to file a lawsuit against the tabloids that reported otherwise.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eChamber and Sugar meet one final time in a dark garage. Sugar explains that the whole abduction scenario was set up be her manager, to convince the public that she was really “clean“. She goes on, that she was already on gher way out of stardom, yet the whole incident with Chamber boosted her good-girl image with a needed edge, and now her career still is evolving. Jon feels used, all he wanted was a place to belong and not stardom. Sugar tells him to find a real home, if that is what he wants and leaves.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt Heathrow the X-Men are boarding the Blackbird, ready to return to the United States. Chamber makes it there in time and asks if they still want him. Some board members try to snowball Archangel with excuses, but he eventually learns that his people have been spending money at the X-Ranch because the place is a mutant brothel. After dismissing everyone, Archangel contacts Nightcrawler and the two of them agree that the X-Ranch bears investigation. Once they’re finished, Archangel removes his shirt and jacket and spends some time soaring through the night air.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn Nevada, a Mr. Favreau nervously arrives at the X-Ranch by limousine. He is greeted by Madame Drache, the house mother. Madame Drache tries to alleviate some of Mr. Favreau’s tension by assuring him he has nothing to fear. She directs him upstairs to a room with one of the prostitutes, named Bette. Mr. Favreau is shocked when he sees that Bette is extremely obese. Bette uses her mutant powers to find his deepest desires so they can have some fun together, but tells him there will be no touching. From far away, Nightcrawler eavesdrops on the meeting between Bette and Mr. Favreau, disgusted. He says that the audio sensors are functioning properly and gives the okay for the X-Men to send in their spy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLater that night, Iceman arrives at the X-Ranch by limousine. He enters the brothel under the alias of Mr. Friese and Madame Drache greets him. Working his new cover, Iceman tells Madame Drache that he works for a major record label and that a high-powered associate suggested he visit the X-Ranch. Just then, Mr. Favreau comes downstairs from his appointment with Bette, perplexed and stammering. He wonders how Bette was able to do what she did to him and hands Madame Drache some cash before he leaves. Iceman tells Madame Drache that Mr. Favreau looked really satisfied and she tells him that all X-Ranch customers leave happy. She explains that the X-Ranch depends on rich clientele like Mr. Favreau to stay in business; the people without the fear of breaking taboos like paying mutants for sexual favors. When Iceman mentions that an openly mutant brothel could attract deadly attention, Madame Drache assures him that everything is safe since the employees can protect themselves and prostitution is legal in Nevada. She escorts Iceman to his appointment and leaves him with one of her girls.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside, Iceman meets a scantily clad woman named Stacy with orange snakeskin instead of ordinary flesh. She tells him that lust tastes something like licorice. More than a little startled, Iceman ventures out to the balcony to get some air. Stacy follows after him and gets to work. She whispers into his ear about chemistry and bodily secretions while she begins touching him. According to Stacy, her body emits pheromones that allow her to control the reactions of others. Iceman starts to feel funny and collapses, incapacitated. Archangel arrives to his teammate’s rescue and subdues Stacy, who tries to beat him with better than average combat skills. Archangel pins her, careful not to let her touch him. Nightcrawler contacts Archangel through an electronic device and warns him that human intruders are beaming into the X-Ranch lobby.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDownstairs, followers of the Church of Humanity teleport into the lobby and kill Madame Drache, despite her attempt to stop them with her fire breathing power. They claim that the fires of humanity must destroy the brothel and punish the mutants inside. Armed with laser guns, the men make their way through the X-Ranch tossing bombs and firing lasers, killing everyone they find along the way, including the human clients. Archangel frees Stacy and gets Iceman back to his feet, knowing that they’re going to have to fight to make it out. Between the three of them, they beat the followers of the church and Nightcrawler picks them up in an X-Wing while the X-Ranch catches on fire.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside, once everyone boards the plane, Stacy meets Nightcrawler, the pilot, and says that he can call her Stacy “X”. Stacy sarcastically compliments the X-Men on their rescue operation since they failed to stop the Church of Humanity before all of her co-workers were killed. She yells at Chamber when she sees him staring at her. Nightcrawler assures her that the X-Men aren’t through with the Church of Humanity and their crimes. Archangel warns Stacy not to use her powers on any X-Men while she’s with them.
