Cable Vol 1 #021

Cable and Domino try to pick up the pieces after all the chaos, but their short-lived rerpieve doesn’t last long! Cable’s old friend Blaquesmith is in danger, and Cable is the only man that can help him!

After rummaging through the Murderworld wreckage, Cable and Domino head out to find an old friend, Blaquesmith. He had been attacked by someone looking for information on Cable. Cable returns to X-Force with yet another worry.

Synopsis

Surveying the wreckage of Arcade’s hideout – which, was the X-Force hideout until it self-destructed – Cable can’t help but feel overwhelmed by the current state of things. The Legacy Virus has been made public, his team needs a new hideout, and he and Domino are feeling a bit awkward after their kiss during what they thought was the end of the world. Cable gets word that Jean Grey has found something worth salvaging and Cable is relieved that it is the PACRAT.

The PACRAT is under a bunch of rubble, so Cable joins with Jean in lifting the vehicle out telekinetically. The two succeed, but not without overpowering Cable. He passes out but is quickly revived and back to his militaristic self. Once airborne, Cable and Jean have a heart-to-heart about second chances. Jean suggests that Cable spend a little more time with his father, Cyclops.

As the group lands at Xavier’s school, Cable is hit with a telepathic message from Blaquesmith. Cable leaves everyone behind except for Domino and Caliban. They fly to an old frigate and Caliban senses someone inside the massive ship. The trio heads in and are met with booby traps of gunfire, which they awkwardly avoid. Caliban finds Blaquesmith under some rubble and frees him. Blaquesmith explains that his traps came online when he was attacked. He quickly pulls up a video file of the attacker, but it is too grainy to tell who it is. Cable vows to find the attacker.

In Scotland, Moira MacTaggart finds that her computer has been accessed. Someone is looking for information on Cable.
